Steve Applegate is an industry professional with 25 years of experience in design, construction, and infrastructure solutions. A 2001 graduate of University of Southern Indiana, Steve began his career as a civil engineering design consultant, where he focused on site development and infrastructure projects through 2009. Since then, he has worked in technical consulting, product integration, and regional management roles, supporting a wide range of environmental and civil and applications. His experience spans waste management solutions, geotechnical systems, stormwater management, earth retention, bridge structures, and water/wastewater storage.
Randy Thompson

Randy Thompson is a licensed Civil Engineer with more than 30 years of experience in geosynthetics, erosion control, and infrastructure protection. He holds degrees from Virginia Tech and Oklahoma State University and has dedicated his career to advancing resilient design solutions for critical infrastructure. His work has included contributions to post-Katrina levee upgrades and ongoing advancements in HydroTurf® technology for dam and levee protection. At Watershed Geo, Randy collaborates with engineers and agencies to implement engineered synthetic revetment systems that improve performance, reduce maintenance, and enhance long-term sustainability. He focuses on bringing practical, field-proven alternatives to traditional hard armor into modern flood protection design.
