The ClosureTurf® final cover system was selected by Waste Management over an 18-inch clay cover with 6-inch vegetative soil to eliminate the need to import soil.

ClosureTurf was placed over the existing dirt intermediate cover, eliminated the need for benches, and could be integrated with the newly installed gas system of solar spark flares. In addition, ClosureTurf provided an aesthetically pleasing view from the nearby highway. For stormwater management, HydroTurf was utilized to replace downdrain pipes. This project involved closure of 8.2 acres of 3H:1V slopes.
