Challenge
The Olympia Hills area in Selma, Texas, required drainage improvements to better manage stormwater runoff through the subdivision. The project called for a solution that could protect the newly graded drainage channel from erosion while supporting the reliable conveyance of stormwater during high-flow events.
Solution
HydroTurf® Z was installed throughout 32,532 square feet of the drainage channel to provide a durable, engineered erosion-control surface. Designed for demanding hydraulic applications, the system provides the performance needed for concentrated stormwater flow while offering a more natural, vegetated appearance than traditional hard-armoring solutions.
Result
The completed channel provides a resilient surface designed to withstand erosive hydraulic forces and support effective stormwater conveyance. By combining erosion protection with a turf finish, HydroTurf® Z helped create a solution that balances long-term performance with the surrounding environment.
